There are many advantages to using 2.0 technology. On my search I looked at Google.com. It was much different than it was back then. The new benefits for Google were being able to use icons, and other applications such as images, maps, videos, etc. Google is the most used site now because of all the tabs and the auto fill application it has. Over the years most sites have evolved to 2.0 technology and has greatly influenced use of the internet today.

The benefits for Stumbleupon are that people can look at their favorite web sites, can search things from the homepage, and can easily look at the subjects they chose for stumbling. Web 2.0 helps users because they can find exactly what they’re in the mood to look at, all they have to do is check “videos” or “humor” or “quotes” and they will stumble websites like that. This helped Stumbleupon become popular because if somebody found something they liked because they can customize stuff and share it with friends.

One of the sites I compared was Hollister. Web 2.0 has helped it develop much more over the years. It used to be just one small page that let you look at the clothes, but you couldn’t order them. Now you can look at all of the clothing items, check their prices, look at different colors for the same things, and order online. It is much more developed now and you can interact with the Web site. Web 2.0 has helped the Web site grow because people could buy more online so it helped their profits and the site grow immensely. People would much rather be able to interact with the store and shop than just look at old pictures of the clothes. Web 2.0 has definitely helped change that site for the better!

When I observed the original Fox News website I had seen how different and how new everything is compared to 15 years ago. The site gets hundreds of new viewers due to its adds, sponsors, and growing popularity. The Web 2.0 features allow other web sites to sponsor Fox or even show advertisements or links that lead to Fox. These benefits make Fox all the more popular and a leading news site.

Web 2.0 helps users by allowing them to do many new things. Such as in Google, web 2.0 gives icons to the many links so instead of just having to read every link, there is a picture that goes along with it. Also with the new web 2.0 when you start typing something on Google, it has a recommended search that pops up. Web 2.0 allows users to follow sites that support it as well, which makes it a lot easier for people to access it.

Web 2.0 technology is a huge advantage for websites like Ask.com. It lets people search much easier for things like pictures. The icons also help people to know where to sign in. Web 2.0 also allows people to post comments on certain things such as answers to questions, or even post a question. Web 2.0 also allows an auto fill capability so you don’t have to type in a whole word. Web 2.0 helps the sight become popular by making it easy and convenient to use. Those are the advantages to web 2.0 technologies for Ask.com.

Web 2.0 technology helped the site Twitter become more usable, and attractive to users. This is important because a lot of people like the sites they use frequently to be stylish and easy to use. Web 2.0 made this possible by the GUI’s, and other things like autocomplete that simply made it an easier and more enjoyable experience to use that particular site.

I compared Hollister with what it was back in the day. Web 2.0 has helped it a lot. It was just one page that let you look at the clothes, but you couldn’t actually shop and buy them. Now you can look at clothes, see how much they are, and order them of the internet. It is much more interesting and you can actually do things on the Web site. Web 2.0 has helped the Web site grow bigger because people can buy things without driving to the mall so it helped their site grow very quickly. People would much rather be able to look the store AND shop rather than just look at pictures of the clothes without being about to purchase them. Web 2.0 has really helped change Hollister for the better!

Google has changed so much over time. They used to be just a search engine, but now Google is e-mail, home pages, apps and more. Web 2.0 helps give feedback and has GUI’s. You can chat and communicate so much easier. You can connect face book to your e-mail and it makes life so much easier. You can search for anything, and while you do that, Google is already browsing through web sites to find your search. You can use ads to attract customers and the graphics and animations.

Now when we type in Google.com more than jusr a search engine pops up, also now we have pictures on website. When google first started off it was only a little website that people visted every now and then but now google runs the internet.Google owns a lot of web sites including some of the most popular and used one.. Google even owns blogger!

I chose Google. The 2.0 technology is helpful because you can interact with other people and discuss what you think about different topics. This site helps you look for other site that are specifically what your searching for.

One of the sights I used in the internet time machine assignment was Google. Back in 98 Google did not have web 2.0.Today Google does have it. Web 2.0 helps users find information easier. Also today, Google has a lot more gadgets and information thanks to web 2.0. Web 2.0 helps make web sites more popular because people can now comment and blog about how they feel about that website. If a lot of users comment good things about a particular commercial then it will help attract more users.

One of the web sites that I compared was http://www.CNN.com, this web site was first opened to the public on 8/15/2000, back then it was nothing more than a collection of featured articles accented by a few graphics…today this is not the case, CNN.com has evolved into a very advanced web site that offers the user a very immersive “Web 2.0” experience, this website is filled with Web 2.0 technology such as videos, larger photos, live links, and more. In 2000, most of this was not possible because it was still being developed…on the 2000 edition of CNN.com, there was a small photo of a Democratic National Convention (which is very grainy), surrounded by a sea of text and standard links. This technology helps the user by allowing them to learn more about current events and become more aware of what is happening around them. Web 2.0 has helped CNN.com become more popular by making it become more appealing to the eye which helped it earn and keep more hits from search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

I chose Bravos website which is a restaurant here in Toledo and I think Web 2.0 helped promote this chain of restaurants because you can now order a meal online and make dinner reservations. This is something that can be very appealing to costumers that are very busy and don’t have the time to walk into the restaurant and make arrangements in person.

The web site I chose is www.imbd.com which is the Internet Movie Database and ever since it has got web 2.0 it is a much nicer website. Web 2.0 helps users study the website even further and move from link to link much easier. Web 2.0 helps attract more customers simply by having a nicer cleaner looking page. This comforts users; they assume they would never attract a virus or problem to their P.C. while using your web site. Internet Movie Database is a much easier site to use and is simpler while looking for show times and new releases. Basically any website that uses web 2.0 will attract more users.

Web 2.0 technology helped the site Google become more usable, and cool to users. This is important because a lot of people like the sites that are easy to use. Web 2.0 made it an easier and more enjoyable way to use Google by adding applications such as images, maps and videos.

One website that I compared on the Wayback Machine was www.yahoo.com . On the old yahoo page, there were no GUIs and you couldn’t click on a link or picture and it would take you right where you wanted to go. The old yahoo page wasn’t that colorful and didn’t have many graphics. Today you can click on one link and it will come up with related topics based on your search. Web 2.0 makes sites more popular because it’s easier to maneuver around the site and you can personalize information on one page. Users like to have a search box, good layout, and to-the-point information; Web 2.0 offers all these things.
