How long has the Internet been around? – The Internet was first introduced in 1969.
Who developed it and why? – The proposal that led to the internet was laid out by J.C.R. Licklider in his 1960 article about computer networking; he later became head of information processing at the U.S. Military’s research agency ARPA (a.k.a. DARPA).
Who controls the Internet? – The official answer states that “nobody” controls the internet.
Who makes the rules that govern how the Internet is used? – The World Wide Web Consortium decides upon the rules and regulations that govern how the Internet is used.
How has the Internet evolved? – The Internet has evolved in a myriad of ways, some of which include, the introduction of e-mail in 1972, another of which is the introduction of domain keys (i.e. .com, .gov, .org) in 1984.
How has the original design of the Internet affected its development? – The original design of the Internet has affected its development because no one has control over it, which in a sense can be either a positive or negative thing.

The internet is filled with electronic files that people can access form home. It is used all around the world. You can buy, sell, and search anything on the internet. It is used for a variety of different things.
The internet was created in the late 1960s.
The US department of Defense Researchers invented the internet because they wanted university and government engineers to work and research anywhere.
Nobody controls the whole internet. People control different websites but no one controls it completely.
The internet has a protocol, a basic set of rules that everyone has to follow.
The internet is a part of everyday life now. There will always be things that people need to learn about the internet. If we didn’t have the internet I don’t know how things would be.
The design has changed a lot in the past couple years. Now it is more confusing than it has ever been but it has so many features that it’s useful for everything.
I think the internet will be used as it is today in the future. It’s hard to imagine that anything else could be invented but somehow there is always something new.

The internet has been around since the early 1960s. It was created by ARPA to communicate easily with other people. The government can control the internet. The IETF (The Internet Engineering Task Force) makes the rules for the internet. The internet was once a small system of computers connected to a network and known mainly to researchers. Today, it is an extremely large with billions of networks and trillions of web pages. The internet was originally invented for communication and has been developed in this manner with social networking where you can meet and communicate with people over the internet. I think the internet will be used to attend worldwide conferences from home and to be able to show documents. The internet affects my life by providing me with a research source, video source, and entertainment source. It gives me a chance to socialize with people that I would otherwise never meet. The internet can be used for many interesting and different things.

Leonard Kleinrock developed the theory of packet switching, and that formed the basis of Internet connections, and he invented that to have some way of connecting through the network. No one is in complete control over the internet. Protocols make the rules on how the internet is used. The internet has evolved by people using it every day from all over the world. The original design of internet is the basic component of the world’s internet today. But now they make better, and for more experienced people using the internet. I think they’ll make computers that can be used for so many more things and people will use it a lot to do different things. The internet effects my life because it makes things easier when I have to do homework or blog for class, or do something concerning school. It also is a lot of fun going on facebook and keeping in touch with my friends that I might not see very often.

The Internet is a huge collection of files that are linked together like a web. The files are stored on web servers. You can access the Internet from your house, school, work, or anywhere else with a computer. The Internet starts in the 1960s when computers started to develop. J.C.R. Licklider proposed a global network of computers in 1962. This formed the beginning of our Internet connections. He thought of the idea because he saw the potential value in allowing computers to share information about research developing in the science and military fields. No single person has control over the entire Internet. Every country controls its own Internet connection. ICANN controls the activities performed on the Internet. Also, the World Wide Web Consortium governs the Internet. The Internet has evolved into a global electronic publishing medium and it now allows electronic business. The original design of the Internet has affected its development by having a connection now to transmit information like they wanted to have it be connected. In the future, I think the Internet will be used to communicate over seas with relatives or diplomats in other countries. Also, I think we will be able to shop on it and look at stores without having to leave your house. The Internet lets me have all of the answers in the world at my fingertips. I can learn so much from the Internet. It’s where I do my homework, play games, and do anything I want!

The Internet is millions of smaller computer networks all linked together to form a network. It includes government, organizations, education, and social networks. The Internet has been around since the 1970’s and was developed by an organization called DARPA, which means the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency, to share defense information with other universities and defense research centers. Ever since then the Internet has been growing rapidly, becoming faster, more advanced, and dependable. Really nobody controls the Internet. However, people can control the websites they own that are a part of the Internet. The global system controls the rules that govern how the Internet is used. The Internet has evolved so much since it was first discovered. It started off with only a handful of sites, and today are millions in existence. From social networks like Facebook and Twitter, to search engines like Google and Yahoo, even websites you can sell products from your own home with as in eBay and Craig’s List. In addition the original design of the Internet affected its development because nobody controls it and it can cause either negative problems or positive answers. In the future I believe that more and more people will be using the internet to further their education beyond high school. Also I think twice as many people in the world will be using Facebook and Twitter five years from now. As for me I use the search engine Google sometimes to help me research for school projects, blog on Blogger for my Honors English and Online Experience classes, and I use my Facebook often to socialize with my friends.

In most nations, the government owns the Internet and communicates with the other nations to find out what information is accessible for their computers. In some countries though, the Internet is turned over to a single person that dictates what its citizens can see. Overall, a leader of the nation makes rules upon the information that can be viewed.
The Internet has been evolving rapidly ever since the day it was created. There are always new minds that come up with new ideas that make the network better. The Internet today is relied on by more businesses, homes, and school. Today everything revolves around it because it is available to everyone who has access to a computer. Because of the Internet’s original design, today the internet is growing for better and worse. We are now exposed to history and present news which allows us to learn, but there are some people that use the Internet for things that aren’t appropriate. All of these new things are building on the original design.
I definitely think that the Internet will be used in the future because it holds a lot of information on how society works today. If we continue to develop at the same rate then new things will be discovered and eventually it will be added to the web.
Because I have the Internet in my life I have the whole world at my fingertips. I feel like if I didn’t have the opportunity to use these machines I would be deprived of most of my education. The internet is a vast source of online information. Today you have to use the internet for just about anything you do. It is used by billions of people at work, home, and school. You can connect to just about anyone in the world using the internet.
It has been around for quite awhile now, dating back to the 1960’s. DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Project Agency) started to run experiments testing the internet with Leonard Kleinrock and J.C.R. Licklider. Not just one person controls the internet, most countries governments are left under control of what is put up on the internet. Overall the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority controls the United States side of the internet and decides the rule of the web.
Ever since the internet was created it has been slowly evolving every day, month, and year. Today you can send e-mails across the internet so it reaches someone that is possibly on the other side of the earth. Images are clearer than before and loading takes a much shorter time. Videos can be viewed in HD on websites like YouTube.
The internet’s original design has allowed for improvements throughout its growth. It has been affected for the better and has still continued to grow for positive or negative reasons.
In the future, I believe the internet will be involved in just about everything we do. It will contain any information we need to know and it will have easier ways of surfing the web, sending e-mails, listening to music, and watching videos.
The internet affects my life in more ways than one. I use the internet at school and home in various ways. At home I check the weather, watch videos, listen to music, and check my grades all on my PC. At school, I save documents and create projects using the internet.
